Film Poster Analysis:

Gravity:

The poster attracts the target audience interested in Sci-fi by having the setting in space and showing an astronaut and spaceship. Furthermore, with the film being set in space where we know, there is no gravity the title implies that the film will be set around that effects of not having gravity and so further attracts the target audience by leaving them wondering what those effects will be. Having Sandra Bullock and George Clooney’s names on the poster attracts people who are their fans and so will make them want to watch the movie. This is also true for the director’s name.

Sin City:

The poster attracts the target audience who are interested in crime by having some of the characters hold guns. Coupled with the way they are dressed, in all black, and their expressions as well as the guns, it is implied that there will be violence and henceforth crime. It also attracts those interested in comics by of having a comic-style font and rain which implies comic book elements will be within the film. Fans of Bruce Willis will also be attracted to the poster as he is front and centre on it. Furthermore, having the directors names on the poster will also attract fans of them, especially Tarantino, and make them want to see the movie.

The main character is Jack Shaw. I chose this name using a name generator and then looking through ones tagged as 'serial killer'. Jack was also a popular name around 1999 - the year he was born. He is 18 years old and he wants revenge on the people who exposed the horrors he committed against his little sister to the world and ruined his life forever.

After their graduation, a group of teens head out to the woods for a graduation party. Their fun is soon ruined, however, when one-by-one they are picked off by a deranged teen claiming they will pay for their mistake. They find themselves locked up in a basement, forced to listen to the sounds of each other being tortured upstairs. Will any of them manage to make it out alive?
